Este é o terceiro livro da série «because you are mine (porque és minha)». O segundo é o livro «when I'm with you (quando estou contigo)». O quarto e último é «quando te vejo (since I saw you)».

«Porque somos um só», tal como os romances prévios, trata-se de um livro pornográfico, com longas páginas de cenas sexuais. Por vezes, o leitor perde-se na compreensão de posições eróticas, não claras na primeira leitura do parágrafo. O enredo é interessante mas o livro foi escrito para o leitor de porno-erotismo.

Pela segunda vez na série, as personagens principais são Francesca (bela, simpática e solícita), e Ian (poderoso, atraente, quase perfeito, não fosse a mágoa e as dúvidas que o assombram em relação aos seus ascendentes).

Relativamente à ação, a autora não nos dá uma data exata, mas, pelos detalhes tecnológicos e de moda, parece decorrer nos tempos atuais, entre Chicago, Reino Unido e França.

No que se refere à mensagem desta história, pode sumarizar-se no seguinte: deve-se dar espaço e tempo às pessoas que vivem perturbadas com traumas do passado. Mesmo que aquilo que elas peçam ou façam possa parecer inútil na opinião de terceiros, só quem experiencia os pensamentos perturbadores e opressivos que emergem numa mente traumatizada poderá entender o que o tempo, a procura de explicações para a compreensão de determinados atos e a meditação desempenham no progresso terapêutico de pessoas com perturbações de stress pós-traumático. Por vezes, não julgar e aceitar são o melhor conforto que se lhes pode dar.

Tal como já referido, o enredo é cativante. Contudo, a autora pormenoriza todas as cenas de amor, por vezes recorrendo a linguagem obscena, passível de ferir a susceptibilidade dos mais púdicos, e isso pode ser um ponto fraco para quem gosta da ação e se entedia com pornografia em demasia.

É possível ler este livro sem ter lido os anteriores? Sim, para quem se entretém apenas com as partes eróticas. Mas é aconselhável cumprir a ordem da série para perceber alguns acontecimentos e personagens.

The second book of the collection «because you are mine», translated into Portuguese by Teresa Martins de Carvalho and Nanci Marcelino. Most of the book consists of a detailed description of sexual scenes. The plot develops only in the last pages. However, the story is beautiful. The next book in the collection is called «because we belong».

It is erotic and pornographic literature. Despite containing coarser terms, this book is better than «Fifty shades», by E. L. James. It is better than last one due to greater action and imagination, and best expression of feelings. However, this kind of literature serves more to erotic entertainment. And anyone looking for a lot of passion and action may find the book boring, because the author is lost in pornographic descriptions. Next book of this collection is «when I'm with you».
